Kristen Wright, CMHC
“I believe our experiences shape us, but they do not have to define us. Therapy gives us a place
to understand what we have been through, recognize the patterns we have developed along the
way, and decide what we want to carry forward—and what we are ready to leave behind.”
About
Kristen Wright, CMHC, is a compassionate and dedicated Clinical Mental Health Counselor who works with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, difficult life experiences, and personal growth. She is passionate about helping clients understand
the impact of their experiences while developing healthier patterns, greater self-awareness, and a stronger sense of self.
Kristen earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bellevue University and her Bachelor of Science
in Marriage and Family Studies from Brigham Young University–Idaho. Her educational background, combined with her clinical experience, has shaped her understanding of the importance of relationships, individual experiences, and the patterns that influence how we see ourselves and connect with others.
Kristen has specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and uses evidence-based,
trauma-informed approaches tailored to the individual needs of each client. She believes therapy is most effective when clients
feel genuinely heard, respected, and accepted. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental, creating a space where clients can explore difficult emotions and experiences without feeling defined by them.
Kristen believes people have an inherent capacity for resilience and meaningful change. Rather than simply focusing on symptoms, she helps clients explore underlying patterns, strengthen coping skills, reconnect with their values and strengths, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling. She considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they work through difficult experiences and create lasting change.
Outside of the therapy office, Kristen enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors in the sunshine, and especially spending time with her horses. She feels most at home at the barn, where there is always something to do, something to learn, and usually
a little dirt involved. Time with her horses keeps her grounded and is one of her favorite ways to recharge.
